East Keilor Campus

Welcome

Essendon Keilor College’s East Keilor campus is one of two Junior campuses catering for Years 7-9 students.

Our students enjoy their own space on a generous sized campus including facilities and technologies that enhance learning. We’re particularly excited about our new STEM centre and the scope it will give our students to press even more into all that the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics have to offer.

Tailoring holistic learning to the needs and interests of young adolescents is ideal in our dedicated Junior School setting. It gives our students the freedom to truly be themselves, and it opens up a whole range of meaningful leadership opportunities.

We’re proud of our unique sub-school culture and the fact that students feel a sense of belonging quickly. It comes with our community spirit of inclusion and friendliness. Our students thrive because first and foremost, they are known and valued.

Our Three Campuses – One School priority ensures that codes of conduct, policies and processes are common to all students. Familiarity with Essendon Keilor College expectations and operations eases the way for our students promoted to Year 10 at the Essendon Senior campus.

Located in Quinn Grove next to the East Keilor Leisure Centre, the campus is easily accessible by car and bus.

Campus Principal’s Message

We’re committed to developing a strong learning community characterised by excellence and purposeful learning that takes into account each student’s unique needs. This includes helping students develop character strengths, a moral code and service ethic.

Honouring that commitment benefits our current students and appeals to prospective families because it develops confident learners who have the knowledge, skills and attributes to shape meaningful futures, contribute positively to society, and succeed.

Our dedicated teachers deliver comprehensive programs in a broad range of academic subjects including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), The Arts, Languages, Design and Technologies, Physical Education and Sport. Further skill and personal development occurs through involvement in clubs, excursions, camps, Sport, Music, and our Performing Arts program.

There’s an emphasis on academic excellence expressed through knowledge application and real-life problem solving that requires critical thinking, good communication skills, collaboration, and creativity. To foster curiosity, teachers offer choice and invite students to negotiate and influence the learning agenda. This is a key to student engagement at East Keilor.

As the campus leader I thoroughly enjoy the role of ensuring rigorous, challenging learning occurs in a positive learning environment because it’s this combination of conditions that enables students to reach for and demonstrate their potential.

We love seeing peak performance in all its forms and often get to celebrate it with our students and their families.

You are very welcome to come and see us at work by booking a 10.15am tour on Wednesdays: P 8331 0109.

See you then.
