East Keilor Principal's Welcome

At East Keilor we offer a broad range of academic subjects as well as comprehensive programs in The Arts, Technology, Physical Education and Sport. There are a range of extra-curricular activities also available to students. Curriculum programs are based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS).

At East Keilor curriculum programs are delivered within the context of a smaller school setting.  This allows students to become well-known to their teachers and develop a sense of belonging and of community.  There is an emphasis on the development of individual responsibility and respect for others.

Excellent teaching programs, developed to meet the academic and social needs of the younger adolescent, foster student engagement, support learning growth and contribute to a happy campus atmosphere.  Students have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities including excursions, camps, performance and sporting opportunities.

In Year 9 an Arts and Technology electives program allows students to pursue a program reflecting their abilities and interests.  Year 9 students also have the opportunity to participate in a Community Involvement Program and an exciting City Experience project based in central Melbourne.

The College motto is Partners in Excellence.  I believe this to mean the partnership between parents, teachers and students as well as the partnership of the three campuses working together to meet the educational needs of students as they progress from Year 7 through to Year 12.  Open communication with parents is valued and encouraged.  Students thrive when there are strong links between home and school with teachers and parents working together to support learning growth.

I extend an invitation to parents and community members to join me for a tour of the school.  I am proud of our students and take great pleasure in visiting classrooms with prospective students and their parents.  Tours run throughout the year on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.15 am. Please telephone to make a booking on 8331 0109.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
